ARTISTIC & ARCHITECTURAL WORKSHOPS
In conjunction with Broadway Across America-Atlanta and Theater of the Stars, a variety of Broadway’s best shows visit the Fox Theatre each year.
The Fox Theatre’s Outreach and Education Department offers unique educational workshops in conjunction with several of the performances. Students learn various skills from writing scripts to choreographing dances to producing musical productions.

Artistic Workshops work in tandem with touring Broadway performances at the Fox Theatre.
In the 2011-2012 school year, the Fox will sponsor Workshops based on the Broadway musicals How the Grinch Stole Christmas! and Les Misérables.
Elementary school students saw How the Grinch Stole Christmas! at the Fox in December. A storyteller will teach the students how to create a story about how money does not buy happiness and a puppeteer will work with to make puppets to perform their story for community events in the spring.
High school students will see Les Misérables in the April at the Fox. “I Dreamed a Dream” is a well-known number in this musical and the students will use this to launch a discussion about their dreams and goals. The students will overlap their thoughts with contemporary events to create poetry, essays, and short plays. The students will perform their short plays at special community events in the spring.

Architectural Workshops are guided by teaching artist Randy Taylor. Using the theatre’s design and architectural elements, Taylor developed a Workshop that teaches school children about Islamic architecture, geometry, and math.
This particular Workshop may be tailored to children of any age.
